Description

Joy Town Community Development Foundation, non-profit organization whose goal is to help engender lasting positive change within the community of Trench Town and its environs. To this end JTCDF operates several creative programs, one of which is TCYF - Taking Charge of Your Future, a year long diversion project. A critical goal of TYCF is to match at-risk youth (in or out of school) with a caring, supportive adult, aka, mentor, who will help the youth or child reach their potential through one-to-one relationships with professional support from Joy Town.
The research shows that when teens or children are matched with a caring adult they are more likely to avoid risky behaviours and focus more on academics. It's a very challenging world that today's youth is having to navigate. Matching them with a caring and responsible Adult can help them successfully navigate the challenges and reach their potential.
